More about Campo del Cielo

Campo del Cielo meteorites are genuine iron meteorites from a famous meteorite field in northern Argentina. The name translates as “Field of Heaven” or “Field of the Sky”, reflecting the remarkable origin of these pieces as fragments of an ancient asteroid that fell to Earth thousands of years ago.

Composed mainly of iron and nickel, Campo del Cielo meteorites have a distinctive metallic look and a pleasing weight in the hand. The impact event is believed to have occurred around 4,200–4,700 years ago, creating a field of craters and scattering meteorite fragments across the area.

Meteorites are among the most fascinating natural collectibles because they offer a direct link to the early Solar System. Many formed around the same time as the planets, making each specimen a genuine piece of space history.

Campo del Cielo meteorites are especially popular with collectors, gift buyers, and anyone interested in astronomy, geology, fossils, minerals, or natural history. To care for your specimen, keep it dry and avoid storing it in damp conditions, as iron meteorites can naturally oxidise over time.
