This genuine Baltic amber specimen contains a very clear spider inclusion, preserved in ancient tree resin from the Baltic region around 40–50 million years ago. Spider inclusions are especially collectable because they offer a glimpse into the small predators of prehistoric forest ecosystems, making this an interesting piece for any amber, fossil, or natural history collection.

More About Amber

Amber is fossilised tree resin, valued for its warm colour, natural clarity and the ancient life it can sometimes preserve. Most collectable amber formed over millions of years, with well-known examples such as Baltic amber dating to around 34–44 million years ago, and some Cretaceous ambers being far older at around 99 million years old. As sticky resin hardened and fossilised, it occasionally trapped tiny insects, plant fragments or air bubbles inside, offering a remarkable glimpse into ancient ecosystems.
